How regional minimum wage works

The Philippines does not use one national daily minimum for all workers. Instead, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB) issue wage orders that set floor rates by region (and sometimes by sector within a region). That is why NCR and provinces can have very different numbers for the same year.

This calculator uses non-agricultural daily rates from consolidated RTWPB data. Agriculture, retail under certain thresholds, and service establishments may follow different tables — check the wage order that applies to your employer and job category.

How monthly and annual amounts are derived

Labor discussions often convert the daily floor to monthly equivalents. A common convention is 26 working days per month (52 weeks ÷ 2). We also show weekly (6 days), semi-monthly (13 days per cutoff × 2), and annual (312 working days) for quick comparisons — your actual payroll calendar may differ.

Minimum wage is gross of statutory deductions. Net take-home after SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and tax is lower; use our Salary Calculator when you have a monthly gross in mind.

The tool above lets you pick any region. Here is the same math for NCR (Metro Manila) at ₱645/day — verify the current wage order on DOLE/NWPC if your employer cites a different effective date.

Daily minimum: ₱645.00

Weekly (× 6 days): ₱3,870.00

Semi-monthly (13 days × 2): ₱8,385.00

Monthly (× 26 days): ₱16,770.00

Annual (× 312 days): ₱201,240.00

Minimum Wage FAQs

What is the current minimum wage in the Philippines?
Minimum wage rates vary by region. NCR (Metro Manila) has the highest at ₱645/day as of 2024–2025. Other regions range from ₱362/day (BARMM) to ₱645/day (NCR). Rates are set by Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB).
Who sets the minimum wage in the Philippines?
Minimum wages are set by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB) under the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), a body under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
How often is the minimum wage updated?
There is no fixed schedule. The RTWPB may issue wage orders whenever they determine that an adjustment is needed, taking into account inflation, economic conditions, and the needs of workers and businesses.
Are all workers entitled to minimum wage?
Most private sector employees are entitled to minimum wage. However, household workers (kasambahay), apprentices, and learners may have different rates. Self-employed individuals, contractors, and managerial employees are not covered.
How is monthly minimum wage computed?
Monthly minimum wage is typically computed using 26 working days per month (standard for Philippine labor law). For example, at ₱645/day in NCR, the monthly equivalent is ₱645 × 26 = ₱16,770/month.
