Tax & withholding
Estimate BIR withholding under TRAIN and see how taxable income is framed after statutory deductions.
Withholding tax in context
BIR withholding on compensation follows the TRAIN Law tax table after statutory contributions are taken into account in many payroll setups. Our withholding tool focuses on monthly taxable income and the published brackets — useful for budgeting and comparing job offers.
Employers may use substituted filing, annualization, or other BIR-prescribed methods. Your Form 2316 and alphalist entries are the authoritative record at year-end.
When income changes mid-year, withholding can adjust even without a visible base-pay change. Bonuses, taxable allowances, and unpaid leave may alter annualized taxable income and therefore monthly deductions.
Pair with full take-home pay
If you start from gross salary, the salary calculator applies SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG before tax, which mirrors how many Filipino payrolls order deductions.

Quick audit flow before escalating to HR
To validate a deduction, compute taxable compensation from your payslip, annualize it, then compare the bracket and tax due with your payroll number. Review at least three periods before escalating, because one cut-off can be noisy due to adjustments.
If mismatches persist, ask payroll for the exact tax table version and annualization method used. This usually resolves confusion faster than debating only the final withheld amount.
